Independent printing house "His publishing house" opened a book on V.O.

The owners of a small printing house, Svoy Publishing House, opened 25 bookstores on the Cadet Line. The publishing house works mainly on pre-order, and among its clients there are many teachers and students of St. Petersburg universities. Now, some of the reprints of classical scientific works that they have ordered that are difficult to find in ordinary stores, as well as their own series of publishing houses, the Silver Age, are being sold in their books. The shelves also feature fiction of all major publishing houses, books on literary criticism, philosophy, psychology and linguistics, some of which are found only in St. Petersburg libraries. In addition - an office of its own production, for example, notebooks from Kraft with Dostoevsky, Lily Brik or Jane Austen, and the opportunity to order your book in a printing house.

So far, the store has only two trading floors, but in the future there will be one more - a lecture hall, as well as a platform for film screenings and other events. Shelves for free exchange of old books will be put in the first room. Amazon readers will be brought to the store soon Kindle and Wexler and the catalog of books to them.

We are not focused on aggressive sales and would like to open primarily a place for leisure. We proceeded from the principle that this is a store for a normal person. Not “Bookworm”, where the visitor comes and gets lost, but not “Word Order”, where there is a lot of specific literature, where a middle-level person feels like an idiot. True, we did a great job with the prices of suppliers - wholesale and non-wholesale. These are books that are not ashamed to put on the shelf. An average book costs 150-200 rubles. Since the opening of the publishing house, one of the main principles has been to make books accessible, and in a monetary sense, too.

We were always very offended by the position of the publications of our printing house in large bookstores: our books are lost, this store is designed to open them to people. Reprints of Shklovsky, Jacobson, Celebration, philological books that can only be found in the library. We want to reprint them and make them available.

The customer is always right: waiters versus visitors

Vasily Bykov walked through the Moscow cafe and asked the waiters what they did not like about the visitors. I hate those guests whom you serve at 100%, and they bastards do not leave a tip. Goons! Some girls, when a man leaves for tea, and then goes to the toilet, take the money for themselves. And then there are men who look at you with a lascivious, piercing gaze and think about dragging them somewhere.

How to turn an abandoned house into a children's center

At the end of last year, the old house in the Arbatskaya area found a new life. The rickety wooden mansion was repaired, the facade was painted, and children's laughter is now heard from the windows. All this is the work of Vera and Oleg Stepanov, the Moscow family and the parents of four children who last year renovated an old house in the center of Moscow, moved there and opened children's studios there.
