November 22 at the Jacob Greter Art Center opens the international exhibition "Temperament of Cuba". This project is a continuation of last year's AfroCubarte, organized by Cuban gallery owner Dayi Morales. The exhibition will feature more than 60 works by Cuban and Ukrainian artists. Among the authors - avant-garde artist Amelia Pelaes del Casal, who worked in the direction of synthetic cubism, Marian González, a member of the National Academy of Arts and Literature of Havana, and Ivan Hernandez Hidalgo, who paints with a mixture of colors with tobacco, giving the work a specific texture and sepia color.

This week's screening of Juan Padron's satirical cartoon "Vampires in Havana" (1985) and Thomas Gutierrez Alea's drama "Strawberries and Chocolate", the film that won the 1994 Berlin Film Festival, is scheduled to run.

In 2011, Dayami Morales did the AfroCubarte project, but the format of this year's exhibition is very different. This time, authors from different countries came together, artists working in different directions. We wanted to show the African and Spanish origins of Cuban culture, as well as introduce Ukrainian authors who convey truly southern passion, harmony and philosophy with their canvases. The project demonstrates the versatility of the talent of Ukrainian and Cuban artists.
The goal of our project was to unite the Cuban and Ukrainian cultures, since they are similar in their passion for exoticism and the world around us. We also want to show that, in addition to salsa, rum, mojito and cigars, Cuba has a wealth of cultural heritage and history. The most expensive work from the Cuban side presented at the exhibition will be Olocun's painting by artist Lydia Esther Aguilera Sanchez (3,000 euros), it has a symbolic meaning for me.
