The plot about the affair with a computer could form the basis of a comedy or even a cyber thriller. Spike Jones, known for the fantastic black comedy "Being John Malkovich" and for the film adaptation of the tale "Where the Monsters Live", this time shot a romantic drama. There are many examples in the history of cinema that we can sincerely sympathize with humanized technology, from the Terminator and the Werther robot to the baby Valley. Jones gave this plot a bright sadness and quiet charm Koppolovskogo "Translation Difficulties." And so that we would definitely not get bored watching a man who was carried away by conversations with an incorporeal female voice, hooligan shocking episodes were interspersed in all this tenderness - it was not for nothing that it was Jones who stood at the origins of indecent and indecently funny "Eccentrics".
Spike Jones is the owner of not only an amazing imagination, but also an exceptional taste, which manifests itself in everything from music (it was written for the film by Arcade Fire) to interior details. He began his career by shooting videos with skateboarders, and an inspired contemplator is still alive in him. His unhurried, quiet story and an extraordinary vision of the beautiful comfortably wrap the viewer like a warm blanket. Despite the serious drama playing out in “Her,” at the end you leave the cinema, rested and with a smile on his face. In conclusion: it is especially recommended to watch “Her” in the original language, otherwise you will not hear the voice of Scarlett Johansson, who, having never appeared on the screen in the flesh, received the prize for the role of the operating system for the best female role at the festival in Rome.
"It's hard to be a god"
Producer: Alexey German
Cast: Leonid Yarmolnik, Yuri Tsurilo, Alexander Chutko, Natalya Moteeva
On another planet, in the state of Arkanar, the level of development of which corresponds to our Middle Ages, there are earth scientists who are called to observe the course of history and to watch, as if something bad had happened. There, the Renaissance is about to begin, but instead a reaction occurs: all the book-readers, poets and intellectuals are sent to the scaffold, and the "black brotherhood" begins a fierce struggle for power. The main character, earthling Rumata Estorsky, must remain neutral, but this is becoming increasingly difficult.
What do we get
The most mythologized Russian film of recent times: everyone knows that the production lasted an infinite number of years, that this is the last and seemingly the main film of Alexei German, shot on the canonical story, in the main role an unexpected artist Leonid Yarmolnik, and Umberto Eco became the first foreign audience. Not everyone knows yet that, in addition, the picture has a lot of dirt, crap, ugly naked bodies, blisters, blood, falling intestines and one close-up of an erect donkey member. In order not to leave the auditorium at the first hour, as many spectators do, you must immediately accept that “It is difficult to be a god” - this is not leisure on a free evening, not the best choice for a first date and not entertainment at all. It’s not even that the adaptation of the Strugatsky (the plot in the film is in the background), but the farewell three-hour monologue by Alexei German about hell, which is always nearby, about animal human nature, about how the world looks like without an artist and without subtle matter, about that history goes in a circle and that the abstract God with man is hard and tired of it all.
The truths are all known, but one does not immediately approach them: German made a test film, during which the viewer fidgets in his chair, does not understand why he was again shown the ass, that the heroes mutter there and why everything is not at all what he had imagined. But here it is important not only to watch through to the end, but also to think over and, if you have the strength, be sure to discuss with someone. Otherwise, there is a risk of being distracted by the painful naturalistic picture and not letting the aftertaste into oneself. And it will definitely appear.
Dallas Buyers Club
Dallas buyers club
PRODUCER: Jean-Marc Valle
AT ROLE: Matthew McConaughey,
Jared Leto, Jennifer Garner,
1985 year. Provincial electrician Ron Woodruff - a player, a drunkard, a homophobe and just the soul of a company - finds out that he is infected with HIV. Desperately clinging to life, Woodruff finds alternative medicines in Mexico, Israel, Japan, and China. Launching on all kinds of tricks, he forwards them from there for himself, and at the same time begins to supply other infected people for money, opening the Dallas Buyers Club. His business partner and key to gay clients is the dying transvestite Rayon. At some point, Woodruff is almost the only hope of the Dallas HIV-infected, most of whom were gay, and a fighter for their rights in the face of bureaucracy and pharmaceutical companies.

In addition to the story itself, the film impresses with the actors' play. Until recently, Matthew McConaughey, the "handsome man from romantic comedies" who has rapidly fallen into oblivion, has not ceased to amaze for the past three years, revealing more new actor facets (right now he can also be seen in "Wolf from Wall Street" and the most powerful series this winter, " A real detective. ") The story of his hero’s struggle for life and civil rights is accompanied by inspired flows of swearing and intemperance in sex, drugs and booze. No less colorful and his companion - Jared Leto in the role of a terminally ill transvestite. For Jared, this is the first movie job in six years: most recently, he was absorbed in his musical career as a soloist with 30 Seconds to Mars.
To the credit of the creators of the Dallas Buyers Club, they do not hit sentiment and do not try to make a saint out of their hero. Woodruff, as he was, remains a bastard throughout the whole story. And this is another bright moment in this story: life is so arranged that sometimes a hefty bastard can teach us a lesson in humanity.
"Lego. The film"
Batman is back. Only now it is smaller and ... squarer. In the new cartoon of the directors "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs," Batman, like all other characters, is a toy from the constructor of Lego. A group of brave heroes have to save the Lego universe from the ominous Lord of Business, who wants to glue all the parts of the game. At the head of the rescue team is, no, not Batman, but the simple hard worker Emmett, mistakenly considered the Chosen.

Another film is the journey of the director “On the Sidelines” and “About Schmidt”, a black and white story about how an adult son and an old father go from Montana to Nebraska for a certain cash prize, and along the way they meet people who dad owes money. Bruce Dern for the role of his father received a prize as the best actor at the last Cannes Film Festival. In addition, we note that Bob Odenkirk from the series Breaking Bad plays here.
